Speech and Langauge Therapist
Anna joined the CAINT Speech and Language Therapy team in January 2019. Anna is based in the Portmarnock and Naas clinics. Anna graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2018. She is member of the Irish Association of Speech and Language Therapists (IASLT) and her professional qualification is recognised by the Regulating Health and Social Care Professional body (CORU).
Before joining the CAINT team Anna gained experience working within the community setting with adults and children as well as in the acute hospital setting. Anna also gained specialist experience working with children with cochlear implants in a hospital setting and has a keen interest in this clinical area.
While at CAINT Anna has gained experience in assessment and intervention for children with speech language delays and disorders, such as Speech Sound Disorders like Verbal Dyspraxia, and Developmental Language Disorder (DLD). Anna has also gained experience working with late-talkers and children with ASD of all ages.
Anna is trained in the administration of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) and Autism Diagnostic Interview – Revised (ADI-R). She carries out ADOS assessments with a Clinical Psychologist on a weekly basis. Anna engages in parent-lead therapies as well as one-to- one, direct intervention with children with ASD, incorporating evidence-based practices.
Anna currently works as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team involving Occupational Therapy, Educational Psychology and Clinical Psychology which allows her to develop a comprehensive view of her clients’ areas of strength and indeed their challenges. Anna strives to develop functional and meaningful goals for each of her clients, considering both the evidence base and her clients’ own motivations for therapy.
