Speech and Language Therapist
Jessica graduated from University of Limerick in 2017 with an honours Masters degree in Speech and Language Therapy. Jessica graduated with an undergraduate honours degree in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Limerick in 2014, after which she spent a year working as a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant in a mainstream primary school in England. In this role, Jessica gained experience working with children from age 3 to 12 who presented with difficulties in speech, language, and communication. During her time here she engaged in continued professional development, training in PECS, and working closely with the Speech and Language Therapist, implementing child-centred programmes.
Jessica has gained experience working with children with additional needs such as ASD, Down Syndrome, Developmental Coordination Disorder, Intellectual Disability, and Global Developmental Delay. She works closely with the family and school in order to provide holistic and client centred care to meet the specific needs of the child. Jessica has also gained experience working with adults with intellectual disability providing evidence-based practice to support them in their daily lives. Jessica is trained in Feeding Eating Drinking and Swallowing (FEDS), Lámh Module 1, First Aid and CPR.
