Maeve Ryan MSc. BA Mod recently joined CAINT Occupational Therapy department in August 2016. Maeve is currently working at the Naas Speech Therapy Clinic.
Before obtaining a Masters in Occupational Therapy from the University of Limerick, Maeve graduated from the Trinity University with an Honours degree in Immunology with Biochemistry in 2012.
Maeve previously worked as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in Naas Hospital for two years. In this role Maeve gained experience implementing individual programmes with a variety of clients. Maeve worked closely with Occupational Therapists throughout.
Maeve has experience with children aged 2-18 years who presented with Downs Syndrome, dyspraxia, dyslexia, autism and ADHD in both Early Intervention and Child and Adolescent Mental Health settings. Within these setting Maeve identified each child’s strengths and weaknesses, created individualised interventions and developed individual home and school programmes to target areas of difficulty. Maeve also liaised with SLT and psychology professionals where appropriate and incorporated their goals into the home programmes.
Maeve has experience working within a multidisciplinary team involving speech and language therapy, educational and clinical psychology, physiotherapy and psychiatry in order to obtain a comprehensive understanding of a client’s strengths and areas of difficulty. Maeve always implements an evidence based approach to treatment in order to ensure the best possible outcomes for her clients.
