As parents of two children who require Speech and Language Therapy due to their disability, we have been very fortunate to have found Catherine, although we have to travel a long way to attend, the benefit is that we have found the staff’s dedication, professionalism, attentiveness and child focus has and will benefit our children to achieve their respective potentials, and pave the way for them to be active members of society in each of their own ways.

I am principal of a large school in Swords Co Dublin. We have an Autism Unit in our school. Last year parents raised a substantial amount of money to buy in speech and language services for the children. This initiative arose out of an identified need for early intervention which was not being provided for by the state. The Caint service in Naas was recommended to me by a friend who had used it before. We found Catherine and Sarah to be extremely professional and efficient in delivering a programme for the children, not only for assessment and intervention purposes, but also in supporting our staff with programmes of work which we continued with, and which the children benefitted from long after the speech therapist finished direct intervention. “I was worried that Emily would fall behind in school from an early age and the impact this would have in the long term. I wanted to try and help her for the future. Catherine was recommended to me by a friend. From the beginning I was impressed with the individualised focus of the programme which was tailored specifically to meet Emily’s needs. I was also pleased that as parents we were closely involved and kept informed at all times. I have noticed a change in Emily, she has made a great improvement in school. She is more motivated to learn and wants to do her best. Also things like doing homework is much easier for her, she now has an interest in reading which she didn’t have before. Her confidence has increased and this has impacted on her interaction with others. She mixes more with her friends and is more outgoing. Overall I’m very pleased with the development in Emily since she commenced the speech and language support.“
